Members receive an attractive and informative 24-page Newsletter four times a year (see sample). They can also  opt to receive e-mail alerts on changes to timetables and fares, line closures,, engineering work affecting services and other events involving the line.

We hold a members’ meeting each year, generally in April or May, inviting influential speakers from the rail industry and others who determine policies which affect both our line and public transport in general. We also invite a guest speaker to our Annual General Meeting  (held in October each year). The meeting also provides members with an opportunity to hear and question senior members of the of the rail industry on matters of local concern.  

Our website includes a ‘Members Area’ which provides access to the ALRUG archive, committee papers, copies of correspondence with stakeholders and other items which may be of interest.
